Viacom v YouTube

So Viacom, with its cohorts Disney etc., are launching an action against YouTube.
Well I say BOO HOO to Viacom! I shed no tears for them at all.

YouTube is perhaps the most progressive video-sharing site, and if these anonymous little men insist on pressing their action, then they are pressing it against not just YouTube users, but anyone using the net.

It is clearly an attempt to limit freedom; after all who really cares, other than these petty-minded, if a small video clip of 10 minutes or under is posted for all to see?
Dear me, these people are losing SO much money from this piracy, the mind positively boggles!

I say that if anyone thinks they have copyrighted stuff of theirs uploaded without permission, and they object to that, then I would advise them to press the "Flag" button which is located under every YouTube video: It's EASY!

In my experience, musicians especially are glad to see their work on YouTube. Viewers can hear and see these vids and actually like them enough to go to the store and buy the complete work.

Such videos get to places where they have never been heard, or they are unknown. YouTube helps them to further their interests, not hinder them.

I for one shall note which DVDs, or other media have the Viacom label on them, and not buy them.

LATER:

**You may wish to see the further posts about YouTube, and the anger that they are creating with some very unfair practices manifest.
It may also seem, according to some, that YouTube are the ones at fault when having dealings with companies like Viacom.

The Eurovision Fit -up contest....

After watching this charade which passes for a "contest" I wonder whether any Western-European country should EVER bother to even attempt to enter it in future?

The word got around that Russia was going to win, and what do you know? Russia won, A FIX!

This "contest" is not about how good a song actually IS, but is more about voting for your buddies in neighbouring countries, particularly if they happen to be in Eastern-Europe.

Political voting is making a mockery of what the contest used to be about, and as usual in recent years, the UK came bottom, with 14 points. At least that was better than in previous years when we got none at all, despite being better than anything from most of the other contestants.

This year, some of these "Songs" defied description, but GARBAGE would seem the apt word to use. Again, the Eastern-European countries (some of them newly joined the EU) vote with their feet for their old oppressors or next-door neighbour countries.

Funny how they were announcing the results in ENGLISH and yes, the winning song from Russia was also sung in ENGLISH!

It is clear, that despite the English language spoken, they hate us, but of course lots of them want to live in Britain, or take the British taxpayers' hard-earned cash via the corrupt European Union. Britain gives BILLIONS to these miscreants.

I vote we LEAVE the European Union, but first offer no more "contestants" to that silly, ridiculous charade called "The Eurovision Song contest". AND other Western-European countries would do well to do the same. Let these Eastern "Europeans" fight it out amongst themselves; without us to humiliate.

I shall no longer bother to watch it, but you can be sure WHO shall get all the points next year, when the contest is held in Moscow.

No contest.

**How is it that Israel enters this 'contest?' I thought it was in the middle-east!

Myleene Klass

Well she maybe a nice-looking woman, but do we really want to see her face plastered all over our TV channels so much?

10 times in one week is a bit too much, and I counted two magazines in my local newsagents with her face on the cover! AND she has a spot on a Classical music station TOO!

This woman is presented as an "expert" on everything. I don't think so. Just tits and a bum which were shown 'adequately' when she was in the Celebrity Big Brother show some time ago.
She has some musical talent; nothing else.

Give us a BREAK TV stations; you must have some other 'worthy' to present your programmes. WHO is promoting this bloody woman anyway??
I switch the friggin; TV off, or change channels whenever she is hoarding the airtime.

The Earth strikes back!

Thousands killed in an Earthquake in China, thousands more in a Cyclone in Burma; a Volcano in Chile which hasn't blown its top for nine thousand years, suddenly decides to do so!

All this within the space of one month. Is the Earth biting back after being raped by the bacteria living on its surface?
We had better wonder, intently.
