A nasty vindictive verdict from a nasty vindictive Jury.
Only in this vile little country would two people who are obviously in love, be chastised in this way.
It is true, there was NO CRIME committed in France, and in actual fact, no crime would have been committed in most other countries of the EU. The girl (and yes we DO know her name, having been banded about for several days before the so-called "Trial") stated that Forrest didn't abduct her, and she even suggested going to France herself.
The persecution apparently even called Forrest a "paedo" and of course that idiot Barrister, presumably a part of the Clown Persecution Service, didn't appear to know that THAT particular nomenclature applies only to people interested in pre-pubertal children, which the Girl patently was NOT.
I despair of the nasty revengeful type of "Justice" that we have in this country.
